港の近くにある「お寿司屋さん」はおいしいよ！

他には・・・
神戸港（koube-kou）、横浜港（yokohama-kou）
など「○○港」みたいに、
地名とくっついた使い方もよく使います。
その場合はだいたい港（kou）と読まれます。

なぜか空港（ku-kou＝airport）は港がつきますね。

考えたら不思議!

Good call. I didn't realize that 空港 no kou is minato. I guess that it makes sense; in English we say airport (versus a seaport). Is 海港 a word? Ah, it is! Cool. kaikou. Kanji is so cool. Things make so much more sense if you actually know what the kanji mean!
