特別英会話教室コミュのひな祭りについて。。。

私は、京都の和雑貨店で働いているのですが、最近【雛人形】商品が入ってきました。

そこで外国の方に【雛人形】について聞かれたのですが、上手く説明できませんでした・・・日本伝統的な行事なので、是非海外の人に知ってもらいたいのですが、どう言ってあげればひな祭りを理解してもらえまるんでしょうか？『お内裏様とお雛様』も英語で何て言えばいいのでしょうか？？

良ければ皆さんの意見をお聞かせ頂けないでしょうか。

お内裏様はthe Emperor
お雛様はthe Empress ですね。

"Hina-matsuri (the Doll's Festival)" is held on March 3rd.
It is the day to wish for girls' growth and happiness.

ひな祭りは3月3日に行われ、
女の子の成長と幸福を願う日です。

という感じでしょうか。

こどもの日を　Japanese Boy's dayとよんでいます。
And, It is the day to wish for girls' growth and happiness.

補足

It is indeed true that the figures depict an emperor and an empress
however we must avoid any misunderstanding by making it clear that
that the practice is only a cultural tradition, and is no longer intended
to be an admiration of imperialism nor worshipping of the royal family,
at least in these days.
