I'm a graduate student living in Tokyo. Now I'm looking for a native speaker of American or Canadian English who lives in Tokyo or nearby areas, has been studying Japanese for a year or more, and can help me with my linguistics research. You'll participate in an experiment in which you'll hear the synthesized sounds made from actual Japanese and English speech, and then guess which language they are made from. I'm sorry I trouble you but I'd like it to be carried out within December. It takes about 30 minutes and can be conducted wherever you like, so I'll come to you, or of course, you can come to me, in which case I'll pay for the transportation cost. A participant will be rewarded with 1,000 yen. If you're interested in the research, please contact me through mixi. I look forward to hearing from you.
