(日本語は英語の後) Hate Yamamote? Love Beer? This coming Saturday will reconcile you with crowded Japanese trains - at the world-famous Yamanote Halloween party! It's organised by no one - hundreds of people gather on the same platform in Shinjuku and then just everybody hops on the same train. Sounds crazy? This anarchistic party has been a major hit in Tokyo's roaring 1990s. At least 1,000 people, half of them Japanese, half Gaijin, went round and round for hours in a butt-normal Yamanote train - until police kicked them out. Yeah, sooner or later somebody has to clear the wagons to make space for those many well-behaving, sober students and businessmen that normally fill late-night trains. Don't worry - nobody will arrest you for drinking and singing on the train - just keep your ticket!
The train everybody is going to enter leaves from Shinjuku station exactly at 9.06 pm on Saturday, october 29th. Gather from 8.30 p.m. on platform #13 in JR's Shinjuku-station (the northbound trains in direction to Ikebukuro) and just get on that train when it arrives. Come in costumes, bring your friends and your own drinks - don't count on those kiosks. And tell everybody --> the more, the partier!
