Butterfy of Amamiohshima 奄美大島のチョウ

Last night I met an American girl on the platform who was leving for Amamiohsima next morning.
We had been talking all along on the platform and the train.
She said CHO repeatedly in Japanese.

The word " CHO " was nails on a chlkboard to me sometimes.
Nevertheless I enjoyed talking with her. .
I could not imagine a foreiger living alone in a small island.
