4/26 Sat. "Charleston Intensive Lesson" by Swifle.
In response to your many requests, we would like to announce a NEW Charleston Intensive Class on April 26th, 2008.
Charleston is a jazz dance that was extremely popular in America in the 1920's. Everyone was dancing Charleston! Lindy Hop is probably derived from the Charleston dances. Charleston was first performed in the area of Charleston, North Carolina, U.S.A. in about 1903! Later, in the 1930's and 40's, it became a part of the Lindy Hop tradition. Lindy Hoppers mixed their own versions of Charleston into their dance, changing the 1920's version a bit. Charleston can be danced Solo, Partnered or in a Group. Usually Charleston is danced to Ragtime Jazz.
Learning Charleston will help improve your improvisation ability and improve the smoothness of your dance and connection! Come and join us for this fun and exciting class!
You do not need a partner for this class. You do not need to register for this class. Please just show up at the studio on the class day.
We are looking forward to seeing you. See you on a dance floor!
