Location: Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden Ka Pilina has reserved the Kahua Lehua campsite at the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe (http://www.honolulu.gov/parks/hbg/hmbg.htm#map). Come and decompress, shake out the last of the Playa dust from your tent and go somewhere GREEN.
THINGS TO BRING: # stove or hibachi and fuel # food and cooking equipment # cooler and coolant (ice) # insect repellent (if sensitive to insect bites) # rainproof tent and rain gear # sleeping gear # lanterns and flashlights # other personal items
BRING WOOD! There is a bonfire ring onsite and harvesting of local burnables is STRICTLY prohibited! There are facilities (bathroom, showers) nearby and we will have no neighbors at the campsite. It's all ours :) . It is almost guaranteed that there will be rain at some point as this is one of the wettest places on the island, so come prepared. We are bringing a garage tent and a large 12-person tent so staying dry won't be an issue. As posted by Andi (see Ka Pilina Tribe for details) there will be a townhall meeting from 1p-4p to discuss the present and future of Ka Pilina.
