A: Did you see that new comedy series on TV last night? The one set in NY.
B: Oh, no. But I heard about it. Something about sex, right?
A: Yeah, it's called 'Sex in the City'. It's the story of, like, a group of four women in their thirty's who are all single, and you know, it's all about their love lives.
B: Was it any good?
A: Uh, yeah, actually it was funny. The main character, Carrie, is, uh, a writer and she write this column, called 'Sex in the City', for a NY paper. She writes about the kind of situations that she and her friends get into when they are dating, or go out for a night in the city.
B: I heard that it was quite controversial.
A: Yeah, it's pretty explicit. It's definitely a show for adults and not for kids. Some of the jokes are pretty adult. They talk about the kind of stuff, you know about sex, that people want to talk about, but are kind of embarrassed to.
B: I guess that is why it is popular.
A: Yeah, I think people, especially women, can relate to the characters and the situations they're in.
