The Pharmacist’s Secrets 2 is a one-act bilingual solo play about an elderly unmarried Japanese pharmacist who used to have dreams to make it as a big-time singer. The play is set in downtown Tokyo on a late June evening at a rustic bar called “Twilight.”
While minding the bar at the request of the “mastaah,” the Pharmacist encounters a young woman who is waiting for her boyfriend. From that point on, the Pharmacist begins a rollercoaster ride to self-discovery. Tormented by weird phone calls, a fly, an act of God and his own puns, will he find salvation in the end?
“The Pharmacist Secrets 2” promises to please with surprises, laughs, tears, and songs.
The play is presented first in Japanese (35 minutes), and then after a 10-minute intermission, in English. There will be “trick” changes in the English version. Come one, come all!
