MNL, facebook's biggest Mie-related group with 450+ members, celebrates its birthday in February, and like last year, we're having a HUGE party to celebrate!
This year's party has been put in the trusty hands of Stereophonic Productions, Nagoya's top event and promotion group. ... 今年のpartyのオーガナイズを名古屋のNo.1イベント・プロモーショングループのStereophonic Productionsに任せました。
The Stereophonic guys are going to be bringing in a 3000W JBL sound system and DMX intelligent lighting system for your partying pleasure.
The music will be provided by Matt (MNL/SWAY!) and FIVE Stereophonic DJs from Nagoya, and will include house, R&B, and hip hop. The Stereophonic line-up is Babur Moghul, Nick Edges, Maddlove, Halycon, and Andy C.
音楽はMNL・SWAY!のマットと名古屋から来る5人のStereophonic DJにより提供され、ハウス・R&B・ヒップホップをカバーする。Stereophonic DJはBabur Moghul, Nick Edges, Maddlove, Halycon, Andy Cです。
There will also be two sexy pole dancers, also coming down from Nagoya.
Babur Moghul first became involved in the dance music world via pirate radio while living in London in the late 90's. The funky basslines and exhilarating synths soon took a serious hold over him and before long he was mixing records. Over the years he has gained a reputation for his unique signature sound - a genre defying fusion of powerful, vibrant rhythms, melodies and vocals. Currently Babur enjoys working as an in-demand DJ and successful event organizer at the forefront of the Nagoya club scene in Japan.
Babur's ability to build a mesmerizing groove before rocking the dancefloor has earned him many loyal fans, and he has attracted attention from the top event promoters and club managers in the region. Since he moved to Nagoya in 2003, Babur has been Resident DJ for over a dozen events including Fanatic at Club Mago, Phantacid at Milk Hall and Powder in Hakuba, Nagano. These residencies provided Babur with invaluable experience whipping both international and Japanese crowds into a frenzy.
In 2006, Babur began appearing as a Guest DJ at events across Japan after winnng the award for Best Technical DJ in the Club Saomai DJ Competion in Osaka. He also got booked to play in the UK at the Blag Club in London and 52 Degrees North in Birmingham. The following year Babur's reputation spread even further when he was interviewed and given an hour to showcase his DJ skills on Saturday Nite Zip- a radio show broadcast on Japanese station Zip-FM. By then he was regularly playing with the best DJs in Japan such as DJ Emma, DJ Ogawa, Nish, Remo-con and Yoji Biomehanika.
2008 proved to be an amazing year for DJ Babur. Together with his business parner Nick Edges, they set up the Stereophonic brand in Nagoya and joined forces with Tokyo's dB UKi Events to bring over Defected artist DJ Stacy Kidd for their party at Club JB's in March. In the summer, Stereophonic flew to Ibiza and Babur played at the legendary Bar M, the Orange Corner and the Koolwaters Pool Party at the Hotel Bahia. Babur also played with Deepgroove and Marc Vedo at the massive San Antonio club Eden. Then in October, Stereophonic teamed up with Oasis to produce 「Halloween Friday」 which went on to be the biggest Halloween party in Nagoya and was supported by Zima, Mimic and Chivas.
So far 2009 is shaping out to be just as good. In May, Stereophonic's launched it's latest event at Club JB's called 「The Choice」 which continues to bring together House Music Fans and Party animals for an unforgettable night. In July, Danny Howells appeared as the Guest DJ for 「The Choice」 and played one of the, if not THE best DJ sets at Club JB's this year. In addition, Stereophonic also branched out and now acts as a booking agent for the most talented Japanese DJ's and Producers. Babur's prolific DJ schedule also continues to grow after DJ Ogawa (one of the pioneers of the Nagoya House Scene) chose Babur to be the latest member to the Smash DJ Roster. Guest DJ's for Smash include the likes of John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Jim Rivers and Pete Heller, and for his first Smash DX event Babur had the privilege of warming up for Satoshi Tomiie.
Nick Edges is the founder & a DJ of Nagoya's Event Group Stereophonic Productions
based in Japan.
You'll find him spinning at Club's JB's, About and other venues around the region.
Born in England, Nick grew-up when the UK underground
scene reached a critical mass - raves were being shut down
left right and center and the club boom hit off. What was
underground now became mainstream and he had tickets for
it all, spending his misspent youth on a keen diet of clubbing
and what was now illegal raving.
On arrival to Japan Nick Edges spent his first 5 years running
one of the main clubs in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka - in which
fueled his passion for dance music and allowed him to hone
his skills as he played 6 hour sets to hundreds of party goers
every weekend.
With a solid reputation behind him, he later moved to the city
of Nagoya where he met another keen-minded DJ/Promoter,
Babur Moghul. The two together combined created an unstoppable
desire to push something new, leading to the formation
of the event and promotion group Stereophonic. Since
it’s beginning back in 2007 the group has taken the city by
storm and continues to produce some of the most unforgettable
nights in the scene, especially it’s yearly renowned 4
venue mammoth-party “The Absolute Halloween”.
Promoting being one side of the coin, Edges has regularly
played around central Japan ranging from the NYE parties in
the Northern Alps of Nagano, down to Shizuoka for local
festivals, as well as Tokoname and Utsumi for summer beach
parties, sharing his unique style of deep grinding basslines
and funk’ed up rhythms of house to the masses.
Further a field has seen him overseas in 2008 on the white
island of Ibiza playing at the legendary Bar M, the Orange
Corner and Koolwaters Pool Party in San Antonio, before
having the opportunity to DJ alongside UK’s Deepgroove and
Marc Vedo at the 5,000 capacity club Eden, which to date has
been the highlight of his career and a memory that drives
him to share his love for the music even more.
You can find Nick Edges playing in Nagoya at Stereophonic
parties held at Club JB’s or at other events and venues around
the region and beyond.
