“Suzannah” is a stage production made for Norwegian television, and features the renowned actress Wenche Foss in the main part as Ibsen’s wife Suzannah. It was written by the world famous Norwegian author and playwright Jon Fosse, and is a gripping representation of the sometimes troubled life of the wife of Ibsen.
The movie “En folkefiende”, or “An Enemy of the People” in English, is a modern interpretation of one of Ibsen’s famous plays by the same name. The direction is by Erik Skjoldberg, who has won international renown as the man behind such movies as “Insomnia” and “Prozac Nation”. It demonstrates that Ibsen is as relevant today as he ever was: The strongest man in the world is he who stands alone.
