Three Japanese Navy Training Ships, Kashima, Asagiri, and Umigiri, will be visiting San Diego from May 8 through 11, 2008 as a part of their training mission. You are invited to a unique on-board concert to witness the joint music talents of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force Music Band and the United States Navy Band Southwest on board of the historic USS Midway which made Yokosuka, Japan its home for 17 years. This community outreach concert is open to the public and will feature traditional Japanese “Taiko” drums in addition to the brass ensembles from both teams.

Time: 2:30pm~4:00pm, Saturday, May 10, 2008

Admission: Free after 2p.m to those who inform the ticket office of their intention to only attend the concert.
