We are co-hosting a boxing event in hopes to raise money for our organizations, as well as take part in a large philanthropy project (further details can be found below).

We are hosting an official amateur boxing match, with a ring, judges, doctor, ring-girls and officials. There will be a DJ as well as music for a very entertaining evening! Please spread the word!

For our Philanthropy project, we are working with Viethope (www.viethope.org), a non-profit organization that provides scholarships for students who are underprivileged. They have been able to provide over $150,000 to create educational opportunities in Vietnam for over 1,900 financially disadvantaged students to date. This project means a lot to me, being born in the United States and having all these opportunities that many around the world do not. Education is not free in Vietnam, and students who want to continue their education after primary school are not able to do so. Something as small as ten dollars a month for a student can make a difference. One of our primary goals of this event is to make a difference for the less fortunate students overseas. Even if you do not participate, I hope to see people make it out to the event!



We will be promoting this event on Terrell Mall in the next upcoming weeks. Details on how to purchase discounted pre-sale tickets will be posted shortly!

If anyone is still interested in participating in the October 11th boxing event, I hope this explains everything! We are still looking for 30 competitors. They are open to anyone, but we hope to reach out to Registered Student Organizations. Please respond to me with the following information by:

Wednesday, October 4th at the latest; the earlier the better.

I apologize for the rush; this is due to USA boxing safety regulations to ensure that competitors have ample time to prepare.

Something things to take note of (I can meet up and pick up the materials):

1. $40.00 Entry Fee
1. $23.50 is going to the Amateur Licensing Fee
2. $16.50 is for all the costs associated with the event (contact me if you want details)
2. I will bring the registration sheet and sheet of liability for the competitor to sign
3. A cup and mouth guard (can be purchased at any sporting good-store or Wal-mart)
4. A birth certificate
5. No facial hair is allowed

Remember, good sportsmanship is mandatory as I will be selecting competitors accordingly. Please note that this is a fundraising as well as a philanthropy event. I will be holding several meetings prior to the event.
