On Sat, Aug 20 NAF Atsugi will open its gates to our Japanese friends and celebrate Bon Odori! Our American Festival will start at noon and run until 5 p.m. with games, food and beverage sales and a Hamburger Eating Contest and American Idol Concert!

Major League Eaters Joey Chesnut, Crazy Legs and Adrian Morgan will team up against the JMSDF & see how many hamburgers they can down! The competition will start at 2 p.m. and is open to all hands, all ages and is FREE! Just bring your appetite and clothes you won’t mind getting dirty to the Main Stage during the American Fest. Past American Idol competitors will be performing at NAF Atsugi’s American Festival beginning at 3 p.m. Enjoy entertainment from some of your favorite past season American Idol performers. After celebrating American Festival, feast your eyes on a traditional Japanese Bon Odori celebration from 5 – 9 p.m. with Taiko drummers and Bon dancers. Be sure to experience this blend of tastes and cultures!
