City of Memphis to be on display at special new exhibit in Berlin Germany September 28 – October 28, 2012
On September 28, 2012, the Gibson Guitar Showroom in the heart of Berlin, Germany will be transformed into a musical Mecca – that of the United States City of Memphis, Tennessee – with the opening of a new exhibit, “Memphis Exhibition Berlin.”
It will be the first time Rufus Thomas, Elvis Presley, Isaac Hayes, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Johnny Cash and many others either from Memphis or with close ties to city will all be under one roof together in Europe to celebrate the many cultural contributions of Memphis’ history and its many current attractions.
“Memphis Exhibition Berlin” opens that day with a press conference and opening reception from 10 a.m. – noon, with live entertainment from Memphis’ internationally renowned Stax Music Academy, which has also toured Italy, Australia, and played many of the United States’ top concert venues. The exhibit will be on display daily from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. until October 28, 2012.
