Laila Wa Nahar (Night and Day)
Imagine travelling along the ancient Silk Road. On a warm summer evening you are invited to attend a performance by your fellow travellers. In the the setting hours of the sun the music and dance begins with sounds and visions from the far to middle eastern ends of the Silk Road.
Come join us for a unique experience. Laila Wa Nahar, Night and Day is an evening along the Silk Road. Listen and you'll hear the sounds on instruments from distant Persia (Santoor), China (Ruan), Turkey (Oud), Arabia(Darabuka), Japan (Shamisen) and more. Watch and see Kathak dance traditions from the royal courts of ancient India, belly dance from the tents of Arabia and the master player of darabuka and artists of henna, paint and magic.
Your are invited to enter our tent and join us from the setting sun to the watchful eyes of the evening stars. Travel to a distant time and place and join us for Laila Wa Nahar at AndZone Gallery at Shinjuku Gyoenmae. Admission is 2000 yen including one drink. Space opens drom 5pm with a 6pm start.
