The FCCJ Music Committee has arranged 2004 Year-end Grand Dinner Concert on Tuesday, December 21, 2004. Naoko Yamazawa, soprano, has performed in concert over 50 times since 2000 including FCCJ's concert in April 2003. Through her grassroots concerts, she has gained many avid fans throughout Japan as the foremost authority singing the poems of Misuzu Kaneko. In this concert, Yamazawa will sing Kaneko's songs and American and Japanese popular songs. Megumi Horii, Flutist, and Tomohisa Waki, Pianist, will also play flute and piano with Yamazawa. In Part I, the program will be "Songs and poems from Stars and Dandelion" such as Tsuya (Reading aloud), Kodama-de-shoka, Sabishii-Toki, Warai, Hoshi-to-Tampopo(Stars and Dandelion) and others. In Part II, Yamazaki will sing mostly American popular movie songs such as "I Could Have Danced All Night," "My Way," "Over the Rainbow" and Japanese songs: Shima Uta, Yuu-yake, etc. including Flute play by Megumi Horii.
