"A New Dawn? Eternal Darkness? : The Japanese Economy in 2010"
Japan enters a new year with many economic uncertainties and challenges ahead. TV Commentator and Economist Noriko Hama of Doshisha University will help us navigate through the complex issues and choices facing the businesses community in Japan. Without a doubt, the Japanese economy confronts a myriad of problems of almost historic proportions. How will Japan cope with high unemployment and enlarged deficits, debts and deflation? What actions can Japanese policy-makers take? Finally, what is Japan’s role in the global economy? In Professor Hama’s words, “No business can hope to succeed without a clear understanding of what globalization is all about”. Join us for this power luncheon as Professor Hama takes us back to the economic future of Kansai and Japan.
Professor Hama teaches International Economics and Finance at Doshisha University.
