LAB.TRIBEで開催される、京都NO.1TECHNO PARTY,STEREO SYSTEMの定期開催が2007年より決定！STEREO SYSTEMは奇数月の最終土曜日に開催することになりました！今回今年最初のゲストには日本にテクノを吹き込んだ張本人、まさに日本のクラブミュージック、クラブシーンを作り上げてきたうちの一人、テクノ外交官ことTOBYが登場！
Kyoto’s No. 1 Techno Party STEREO SYSTEM has finalized its venue for 2007! Held at LAB.TRIBE, STEREO SYSTEM will throw its parties on every last Saturday of every odd month! This time the first guest of the year is the man who breathed life into techno in Japan, the architect of Japanese club music and the Japanese club scene, our techno ambassador TOBY makes his appearance!

テクノ外交官としても知られる TOBYは、1990年よりドイツのテクノシーンと交流を深め、世界最大のテクノフェスティバル “LOVE PARADE“ を始め、Sven Vath, Dr.Motte, Mijk Van Dijk等のアーティストをいち早く日本に紹介するなど、今日まで日本とドイツのテクノシーンの架け橋となってきた。
Known also as the Techno ambassador, TOBY has deepened the exchanges with the German techno scene since 1990. Creating the world’s largest techno festival “LOVE PARADE”, and being among the first to introduce Sven Vath, Dr. Motte, Mijk Van Dijk, and other artists to Japan, til this day he has acted as the bridge between Japan and Germany’s techno scenes.
そして日本のテクノシーンを代表するクラブ ”MANIAC LOVE” がオープンした1993年より本格的にDJ活動をスタートさせ、国内有名クラブはもとより、フランクフルトの“OMEN”、ベルリンの“TRESOR”といったドイツ各地、オーストリア、ポーランド、チェコ、フィンランド、ロシア等のヨーロッパ諸国、中国、台湾、シンガポールなどのアジア各国、そして日本最大の屋内レイブ「WIRE」やドイツの「FUSION」といったビッグフェスティバルにも出演する。
また、盟友 Misuzuと立ち上げたラウンジスタイルパーティー「Sorbet」においては、以前より希に披露してきたハウスセットの DJ PLAY を中心に、彼の新たな一面も垣間見る事が出来る。
Then since 1993, when the club representing Japan’s techno scene “MANIAC LOVE” opened, he began a serious DJ career. With domestic clubs as his base, he has gone on to perform in Frankfurt’s “OMEN”, Berlin’s “TRESOR” as well as various other locations in Germany, Austria, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Finland, Russia and other European countries, China, Taiwan, Singapore and other Asian countries, and also Japan’s largest indoor rave “WIRE” and big festivals such as Germany’s “FUSION.”
For “Sorbet”, the lounge style party he established with his close ally Misuzu, though it is rarer to hear of his playing for house sets, when he does take center stage, one can catch a glimpse of his ever changing new DJ face.
プロダクションワークにおいては、Mijk Van Dijk とのユニット「The brothers in raw」、Thomas Schumacher とのコラボレーション「Train to Tokio」、Gabriel Le Marとのユニット「Supercruizer」など、著名なテクノプロデューサーとのコラボレーションを展開し、2003年に発売されたインベーダーゲーム誕生25周年記念CD「スペースインベーダー大作戦」（東芝EMI）や、シーナ＆ロケッツ結成25周年記念CD「ELECTROKKETS」（ビクターエンタテインメント）に楽曲を提供。近年はフランクフルトのテクノアーティストANDREAS KAUFFELTとのユニット「KABUTO」がヒットしている。
そして今年9月、恒例の『WIRE06』へ出演すると同時に、自身でオーガナイズして来た『WIRE前夜祭』を改めスタートさせた『WIRE06アフターアワーズ』が大盛況のうちに終了した。
As for production work, he has developed collaborations with celebrated producers such as his unit with Mijk Van Dijk “The brothers in raw”, his collaboration with Thomas Schumacher “Train to Tokio”, his unit with Gabriel Le Mar “Supercruizer”, etc. He has contributed tunes to the special edition CD “Space Invaders” (Toshiba EMI), which commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Space Invaders game and which was released in 2003, as well as to the SHEENA & THE ROKKETS 25th Anniversary CD “ELECTROKKETS” (Victor Entertainment). In recent years the unit he formed with Frankfurt techno artist ANDREAS KAUFFELT “KABUTO” has been a hit.
Now in September of this year, at the same time as his usual appearance in “WIRE06”, “WIRE06 After Hours”, which he revised and organized by himself from “WIRE Eve”, came to an end amid its still roaring success.
