The GBBF dates for next year are August 13 (火) to 17 (土)

Because of お盆 it's best to travel the week before.

My tentative plans for next year are to fly sometime during the week August 5 (月) to 9 (金) for about 11 nights and attend the GBBF on 2 or 3 days.

    I have almost decided to leave Tokyo August 8 (木) arriving same day and leave London August 19 (月) arriving Tokyo Tuesday 20...

    Price on BA's website at the moment is Narita-Heathrow-Narita total \ 177,230.00

    Surcharges have gone up again!

    Price on BA's website at the moment is Narita-Heathrow-Narita total \189,130.00

    Fare \116,000.00
    Surcharges \73,130.00

    This is for departing August 8 (木) and leave London August 19 (月)

    I just checked Virgin Atlantic and the total fare & surcharges for the same dates at the moment is:

    JPY 110,000 + JPY 67,670 = JPY 177,670.00

    Just over 10,000 yen cheaper than BA

    Surcharges at BA have come down a little from today!!! Total for BA is now:

    184,270 yen (it was 189,130 last time I checked!)

    about 5000 yen cheaper!

    I can't use my BA mileage to pay for my flight in August げっそり

    I can upgrade to Premium Economy ONLY if I fly back to Haneda with mileage.

    I can't upgrade to Premium Economy flying to London!

    What to do!?

    Friday 8/9 Haneda > London 46,500

    Tuesday 8/20 London > Narita 50,000

    Total 164,780 including surcharges!!!!!

    Save 20,000 yen by moving dates by one day!!!

    Or return 8/19 Monday Heathrow > Haneda Total 161,280

    But It's too early in the morning for me!

    Tickets for the GBBF will go on sale from April. Prices have not been announced but I think non CAMRA members will pay 8 or 10 pounds per day. A passport ticket is cheaper if you plan to attend 3 days or more. I will probably attend Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 and Friday 16. The passport ticket was 23 pounds last time.

    I will announce when the prices have been posted on the GBBF website.

    今、話し合っているところですが、ピークシーズンの８月に行くのは大変高いです。
    今までのところ、どんさんから参加表明を頂いています。
    もちろんGBBFには行きたいですが、年間を通して、英国では各地方でこれに似たビアフェスが催されています。（アスコット、ケンブリッジ、他たくさんの地方で）　
    もしビアツアーの時期を１ヶ月（９月半ば〜）に延期するだけでも料金は大変安くなります。
    （少なくとも４万円）
    もしビアツアーの時期を遅くにずらせば、もっと参加できる人がいるでしょうか？
    みなさんどう思いますか？
    まだ時間がたくさんあるので考えたいと思います

    Best prices at the moment with BA:

    8/8 (Thurs) Narita > London 48,250

    8/19 (Mon) London > Haneda 48,250

    (London > Narita is 67,750! Too much!)

    Total including surcharges 164,420

    Virgin Atlantic is JPY 182,920

    Yay! 8/8 departure, 8/19 return, Narita - Heathrow - Narita available again a little cheaper!

    If I fly to London on Tuesday 8/6 and leave on Sunday 8/18 I can use my mileage points and pay 93,520 yen for the flight including surcharges! That's a saving of 74,000 yen minus one extra night and one day's food/beer money!!!

    Don't forget, you can check-in online 24 hours before departure and print out your boarding card or choose to collect it at Narita.

    Last night, 8/8 Tokyo - 8/18 London was 142,920 yen (including surcharge).
    Now is 163,420 yen!
    Why? I'm lucky.
