CLUB PACIFIC Vol. 5 - Slogan: "Robotic Way to End The Summer of Robomance" -
Autumn is on its way, watch out! However, CLUB PACIFIC won't let go such a robo-romantic summer so easily. Once again, forecast warning says the hot robo monsoon will hit Central East London on the 19th September.
CLUB PACIFIC pays tribute to the eighties, when synth pop was serious and high-production. When popstars lived like kings and queens. When pop icons were so influential they could release Nelson Mandela.
Anyway, CLUB PACIFIC is not getting political. Instead we throw multi-national ROBOTIC DISCO POPS to remove political tension from the visitors.
Fat Arpeggio Bass Lines from Giorgio Moroder and Claudio Simonetti, Robomantic chord sequences played by Sakamoto and Hosono, Robotic sense of humour of Telex, forgotten synthetic gems by British Pop Stars from the golden era that are so rare and novel that you will never hear anywhere else.
8PM - 11PM: LOUNGE HOURS Earlier hours we play analogue robo pops, synthy soundtracks and moody instrumentals.
11PM - 2AM: DISCO HOURS At 11, the PA is cranked up for DISCO HOURS! Dance to cosmic Robotic Disco Pops and Novelty Records from all over the world.
Disc Jockies:
Euro Boys (Yuri Suzuki and Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad)
Tom Hirst and Shakeeb Abu Hamdan (Deep Vein Dinosnoutopia / Je Ne Say Wot?)
and regular DJs Shintaro Taketani and Oliver Boggott
LIFE serves state of art sushi until 11PM, please order in the bar / lounge. Bar open til 2AM. Try Japanese beer in pints, hot and cold sake and plum wine.
