D I G I C U L T ( (USTA Records - Dacru - Belgium)

DigiCult consists of Alpha (Davy Piessens) and DJ Nemesis (Bert De Decker) who first met early 2003. Alpha had been making music for a very long time, with interests evolving throughout the years from techno to trip hop. Finally growing a passion for the psychedelic. Nemesis from his side had been familiar for a long time with all aspects of psychedelic music. By teaming up they formed the perfect duo to bring you their own interpretation of contemporary trance.

They've been concentrating on making music since August 2003 and since then they’ve been given the time to grow under the wings of the Belgian organisation Dacru (www.dacru.be). Their style can be described as full-on morning with an oldskool touch, paving the way for a typical ‘belgian’ vibe. Combining power basslines with smooth melody, their primary aim still is making you fly, at home or on the dancefloor ...

Now, after a lot of hard work, they managed to bring you some quality tracks resulting in the release of their first full album called “Avenida de Bélgica” in the Israeli label USTA records. Other releases that are coming up soon are a track in the first compilation of new French label Avigmatic records and also a track in the first compilation of new USA label Divine Balance records. And eventhough they’ve just started out playing live acts since the summer of 2005 they’ve already played gigs in Belgium, Italy, Spain and Tunisia.

Dj's:
JIBARO ( Phantasm Records/Quark Agency - NL)

DJ Jibaro first discovered trance in the summer of 1997 at the young age of 16 and growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, he had the opportunity to go to numerous big outdoor parties where he fell in love with the music and the scene. In the winter of March 2000 he moved to The Netherlands where he decided that he wanted to do
more with music and started Dj’ing. After going to a number of parties in Holland he met well known Dj Matt Boom!, label manager of Boom! Records, Holland. In the year 2001 he was given the opportunity to play at numerous Boom! Records parties and early in 2002 he became label Dj for this well known label.

In January 2002 playing a Boom! party in Amsterdam he met well known Dj Junya(Eskimo), son of legend John Phantasm, who was impressed by his mixing skills and choice of music. After visiting Junya in the summer of 2003 in England he was given the opportunity to become label Dj for this legendary UK based label, Phantasm Records. Since then he has further developed his Dj’ing skills and selects only the best and unique tracks for his sets. His style changes depending on what time he plays but he always chooses to incorporate a wide variety of styles in his sets, also loving massive build-ups. Over the past four years he has played at nummerous parties in Holland and Belgium, and has also had the opportunity to play at parties in Italy, Germany and the U.K.

He has been fortunate enough to have played alongside many great artists of the psychedelic trance scene, the likes of: Eskimo, Xerox & Illumination, Cyrus the Virus, John Phantasm, Kristian, Matt Boom!, Rastaliens, Fractal Glider, Barak, Bishop, Daksinamurti, Oonah, DigiCult, Dark Nebula, California Sunshine, Son Kite, P.O.T.S, Psyside, Miranda, to name but a few.

Not long after that he and a friend started their own party collective called “CosmicCombination”. Now six years later the group has grown and quality has grown to a professional level. His dj sets can be best described as Funky uplifting psytrance with a happy twist. He played along artist like: Protoculture, Eskimo, Triptych, Alternative Control, Zen Mechanics, Killer Butts, Etic, Rev, LiftShift, Vaishiyas, Sync, Mad Contrabender, Mummra…

NEMESIS (Transient Records - USTA Records - Dacru - Belgium)

Nemesis is Bert De Decker, 24 years old and living in Ghent, Belgium. His journey in trance started out in 2001 when he first came into contact with the music and the parties. In September that year he co-founded party organisation ‘Dacru’ (www.dacru.be) and started playing out at several parties. Not long after he won the first Psychedelik radio Mix Challenge which lead to the residency at the Paris-based webradio. As he became resident with Psychedelik, and Dacru organised more parties, he had the chance to enhance his mixing skills. In this period he found his true style which was nicely described as 'Melodic Full-on'. Today he tries to play his own definition of uplifting melodic trance. He likes to shift between styles and loves well built-up climaxes at the right time and long emotional breaks.

Since August 2003 he’s also been producing together with Alpha under the name 'DigiCult' and in early 2004 he became a label dj for the legendary UK label Transient Records (www.transient.com), a reward for the constant high level in his mixing! In the end of 2005 the first full album by DigiCult will be released under USTA Records and Nemesis will also be dj-ing for this established Israeli label.

Over the years Nemesis has performed in various countries such as Belgium, France, UK, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Tunisia, …. And he has been on the line-up with artists such as Skazi, Hallucinogen, Shiva, SUN Project, Menog, Xerox & Illumination, Wrecked Machines, Fatali, Bizarre Contact, Miraculix, Triptych, Penta, Pop Stream, Alternative Control, Perplex and many more...

Special memories include playing the DJ Live sessions (Paris), the Rhakti Dei festivals (Belgium), Chichime (London), Mikology festival (Mexico), Caser Orgasmen (Italy), Omni festival (Spain) and many more of course...

Riches / Aerophobia

Just a few Dutch artists get as much critical acclaim both nationally and off-shore, right up to Brazil. Then again, when you're no stranger to performing at major festival style raves such as Dance Valley, you must have made a lasting
impression. Riches, if you haven't heard him play or DJ, there's an equal chance you've seen his graphic work. It includes designing flyer & websites for well known event-organizations and many cover sleeves for records & cd’s.
As being one of the leading designers for big raves in the early
nineties, Richard worked with dance organizations for their promotional purposes. His employers were often pleasantly surprised with the background music he put on when they worked on a project. As a DJ, Riches received his first invitation in 1996 to mix psychedelic dub & chill-out at the famous Melkweg venue. Multigroove asked him to become a resident DJ for their chill-out zones at their bigger raves as the response grew in enthusiasm. Since then he played chilled music at loads of different events.
From small parties to festivals in Spain and the Swiss alps.

Summer 2002 marked another milestone for DJ Riches.
His appearances at Mysteryland (35.000 people) and at two leading psytrance events in Brazil, Trancendence in the summer and 3 amazing DJ-sets at Universo Paralello the Brazilian new years festival, concludes the distinction with the average DJ. A year later at Dance Valley 2003 (50.000 people) he proved that he got more tricks on his sleeve. He played a glorious live Aerophobia performance, the longest live-set of the whole event.
When he performed at the Legalize street rave (8.000 people), he attracted a major amount of the audience from the 8 stages. On top of that he did a double appearance on the 1st Solstice festival in Amsterdam/Ruigoord. Next to that he also began as programmer and resident DJ for the underground Alien Vibes party series.
Earning him the title as one of the most active and promising trance artists in the Netherlands. (Quote from Earthdance website) This resulted in the honor of playing a rocking live-set for the Earthdance organization.
That same year, and a part of 2004 he was hosting the progressive area for the biggest and most successful club of Amsterdam, the Xtra Large. Together with the well known DJ Lucas (Metalspark / M-Tracks). In the meanwhile he also became the main DJ and programmer of many underground Zirk events (about 25 parties in 2 years). At the end of that year he did a Brazilian tour playing live & Dj-sets at various places in the country, to end on new year again at the 5th edition of Universo Paralello, where he did double live-sets and a DJ-set.

In the spring of 2005 he started Holland’s only weekly progressive/psytrance club night Aknatronix together with his good friends; Liftshift and DJ Zen.
This club night finally made it possible that the captivating progressive tunes got accepted by the psychedelic crowd in Holland, thanks to the great atmosphere they created. As most psy-parties before that only programmed full-on music.
In October 2005 Aknatronix was invited to join the Amsterdam Dance Event, one of the worlds leading international conferences for electronic dance music. For the event that had to be organized they contracted the German G-Plus label (X-Dream, The Delta, Midimiliz) and was completely sold out in advance. By the end of 2005 Riches visited Brazil again. This time together with Liftshift on yet another warm Universo adventure where both of them were doing a live & dj-set. Followed by playing on some small parties afterwards, enjoying the wonderful vibe and the sunny people.

After returning to Holland he appeared primetime on the mainstage of the Digital Overdose indoor festival (5000 people) between techno icons as C.J. Bolland & Billy Nasty. Playing a groovy full-on psytrance set. As most of the visitors never heard these uplifting sounds before, the audience was very surprised, but within a few tracks he rocked the dancefloor completely. After his dj-set he had to run to chill-out area to do his downbeat live-set.
When the organization of the Alien Vibes parties re-entered orbit, he got invited for playing as the main DJ at their opening party and got asked again for their future events. Only a week later his own Aknatronix organization did their first party of this year, and it was sold out completely, within 2 hours after opening the venue. For the end April he will be performing twice on Hollands greatest national celebration; Queensday. Traveling the same day from playing at the far side of thecountry back to Amsterdam’s big Queensday afterparty to play for the Trancemafia organization.

For the coming summer he got invited to host a complete psytrance area together with the Aknatronix crew on Strike One, the only nighttime outdoor techno/hard dance festival of Holland. The estimated amount of visitors will be around 25.000. And next to that there are plans to host a complete psytrance area on a new high profile dance/techno festival planned for this 3rd quarter of this year in Turkey on the beach of Alanya.

And if you can’t find him at the DJ booth, he is probably roaming the dance floor, as his favorite place is in between the speakers. Enjoying the music and making fun!
