●モChildren of Shatilaモ 11:30 AM Start (1998/Lebanon-Palestine/47min/Director:Mai Masri) Fifty years after the exile of their grandparents from Palestine, the children of Shatila camp attempt to come to terms with overwhelming realities of growing up in refugee camp which has survived massacre, siege and starvation. Though the stories of Farah (11years) and Issa (12years), the film explores the imaginary world of children where play, dream and fantasy help them cope with the difficulties of their everyday lives.
●メFrontiers of dreams and Fearsモ 13:00 Start (2001/Palestine,U.S.A./56min/Director:Mai Masri) This filmfollows two young Palestinian girls through several months of their lives: Mona from Shatila refugee camp in Beirut and Manar from Dheisha refugee camp in Bethlehem. The film focuses on their lives and dreams, and on the extraordinary relationship that develops between them, first, through emails, then through letters, and finally culminating in the dramatic meeting at the border separating them from their homeland and from each other.
●Director: Mai Masri A Palestinian filmmaker, Mai Masri studied film at San Francisco State University. Directed and produced many award-winning documentaries which have been broadcast world wide, her films include War Generation (1987), Children of Fire (90), Suspended Dreams (92), Hanan Ashrawi (95). Using profits from " Frontiers of Dreams and Fears", Ms. Masri set up Palestine Children's Fund to support children in Palestinian refugee camps. The fund offers scholarships to help children receive education and build their own future.

Artists have tried to express the impression on the films in their art works. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ◇◆◇ Whatユs EARTH VISION? ◇◆◇ "EARTH VISION - The Tokyo Global Environmental Film Festival" has been held annually in Tokyo as a visual forum to examine our environment through moving images. メEARTH VISION in Shinjukugyoenモ started from 2004, as regular screenings of films from past entries of EARTH VISION. These are being held with the cooperation of Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden of the Ministry of the Environment. Each screening focuses on specific fields of wide-ranging environmental issues.
