Stayed at Tim's place, rushcutters bay, next to darlinghurst.
tim is a freelance photographer, i gave him a zihotchi by meiwa denki. As he doesnt understand japanese, its not much use to him, but will impress girls in bars for sure.
tim loves ping pong. he even made a film about it, called "pong", which he entered into Tropfest film festival. But it didnt win. He has a table in his back yard. He even played ping pong against old guys in the park when he was in Beijing.
the typical house breakfast at tim's - beans & eggs. Good power food for getting into the pong action.
Tim has his own special bat, bought in china. We played a bunch of matches over the 3 days i was there. He mostly beat me, but its getting closer. The last match we played at night, drunk, he won 21-19.
i will definitely get him next time, dammit!!! :-)
Tim shares a house with 2 others, Dan, a dope-smoking video game magazine editor & a girl called Sarah. Dan is serious about his grass. He even has an electric coffee grinder in the lounge room to chop his grass up nice & fine...
Note the kylie minogue calendar in the kitchen. Classic share house style.
Tim favours a nice sun umbrella on those hot sydney days so he can keep his snow-white tan
a nice place to hang out. spent the first few days lying around reading books. First pic is the view from the end of the beach down the back of my parents place.
Chieko turned up with a cold. This photo is her eating bananas on the verandah, with the beach behind her.
My dad mowed a small golf course (9 holes) in his back yard. As you can guess they have a bit of space. Good fun for the afternoons when there is no surf, which is pretty often in summer.
My parents also have a gay duck. Just one. They used to have 2 gay ducks but one got eaten by a fox. The one left comes up from the dam to the house to look at its reflection in the house windows. It loves itself. But as it craps all over the place my parents dont love it so much. Chieko wanted to make duck soba out of it but i think its too old & would be a bit tough.. ;-)
chieko cant play golf, but she is good at making holes in the ground.
