世界の指導者189名が、国連の場で2015年までに貧困を半減するなどと約束した「ミレニアム開発目標（MDGs）」。
この約束を各国政府に確実に守ってもらいたいという意志を明確に表示するために、
世界中の人々が立ち上がり（STAND UP）、
貧困をなくすために行動し（TAKE ACTION）
その数でギネスに挑戦するという、グローバルイベントです。
昨年は、世界で4,300万人の人々が立ち上がり、ギネス記録を打ち立てました。
アートオブリビングも世界中でこのイベントに協力しています。
参加する方法は簡単です！
10月17日から19日の72時間以内に、
世界の平和を願い、貧困をなくす意志表示として、
「立ち上がる」というアクションを行います。
19日の新神戸でのロングクリヤ後の「スタンドアップ」にご参加いただくか、
ご自分で、お友達や家族と一緒に行うこともできます。
その様子をデジカメや携帯で写真にとり、
以下のアドレスにご報告ください。

STAND UP and TAKE ACTION!: October 17th-19th, 2008
On October 17th,18th and 19th, millions all over the world will once again Stand Up and Take Action against poverty and inequality and in support of the Millennium Development Goals.
On this day last year, 43.7 million people stood up against poverty setting a new Guinness World Record.
As part of the challenge, participants will express their support for the Millennium Development Goals by performing the symbolic action of "Standing Up". The number of participants and their photographs will then be reported.
Art of Living Japan is planning events on 19th after Long Kriya in Shin Kobe and on 18th and 19th in Diwali Yokohama event, and we would certainly like your participation in these.
You can also inform about this event to many more people and together participate in this event by forming a "Stand Up!" group.
Let us reach out to our friends, co-workers, and schools to ensure that the voice of maximum people reaches the world!
After the event, please send the number of people who participated in the event along with a photograph to standup@artoflivingjapan.org by 12:00 20th Oct.
Each of our individual "Stand Up" action can create a big impact on this world!
