Noriko Okaku is an audiovisual, performance and animation artist who graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2005.
Her work explores the variety, eclectic nature and strangeness underlying everyday thing and actions. Her video work incorporates drawing, collage, photography, painting and animation.
Noriko's video works have been shown internationally at Festival Images Contre Nature, France; Magmart International Videoart Festival, CAM, Italy; and the Garage Centre for Contemporary Culture, Moscow.
Noriko has also performed internationally, most recently at Aniloque, Hungary; the Museum of Image and Sound, Brazil; Circuito Off, Italy; Cimatics, Belgium; and the Design Museum, London.
She has also collaborated on a wide variety of live projects with Max Hattler including tour visuals for The Egg and Basement Jaxx. Her collaborations also include ongoing work with Bishi.
For her inaugural exhibition at RED she will premier new video works and a performance piece. During the audiovisual performance the artist will create a new drawn and collaged animation complimented by a soundtrack by Matthew Glamour.
