With many thanks, we are pleased to inform you of the 3rd Machiya event at Shijo Kyo Machiya on up-coming July 2nd. Taking a golden opportunity of Gion Matsuri (summer festival) season, we would like to hold the event as Yukata (summer Kimono) special night! When wearing Yukata, a beautiful obi belt is a must to make your style perfect. As a suitable guest speaker for such Yukata event, we welcome Mr. Tatsumura from a family known as a world famous, Kyoto textile brand, specializing in silk weaving technic called "Nishiki." The word "Nishiki" has been used to describe things of exceptional beauty. A Tatsumura is like LOUIS VUITTON or CHANEL born in Kyoto.
Date & Time: July 2nd (Sat.), 5:30PM-8:30PM
5:30-6:30PM: Lecture of "Nishiki" by Mr. Amane Tatsumura
6:30-8:30PM: After party in the 100 year-old machiya building, garden and "Kura bar". All of this will turn into a big party space, where
business persons and students can socialize and network.
Also, this event is as our "tribute" to non-Japanese keep visiting and
living in Japan after 3.11. In short, non-Japanese will be given a
discount!!
This time, Yukata wearer will also be given a discount!!
Cost:
Yukata dresser: 2,000yen
Non-Japanese / Student: 2,000yen
Japanese NOT in Yukata: 2,500yen

祇園祭に16基ある鉾と山の内、郭巨山を有する｢四条京町家｣で、最高の浴衣納涼ナイトを楽しみませんか？

午後5時半-6時半：龍村周氏に日本最高の繊維｢錦」のレクチャー
午後6時半-8時半：町家母屋、通庭、前栽(中庭)、蔵など町家スペース全体を活用したパーティ
