「Academic Study in English---History of Edo・Tokyo」　The Political Mechanisms of Edo
江戸の歴史を西欧との比較の中でとらえなおしてみませんか。イギリス人講師による授業は、日本史への造詣が深まるだけでなく、英語のスキルも磨けます。今回は、the first session を実施します。The second sessionとThe third sessionは、決まり次第お知らせします。

1, The Political Mechanisms of Edo
In the first session, we will discuss the effectiveness of Edo's means of control and administration, such as the Alternate Attendance,参勤交代 system and the Shogunate-Domain,幕藩 system, as well as the Policy of Seclusion,鎖国.

BRIEF BIO OF INSTRUCTOR: Myanna Lennon earned her MA in International Relations from Keio University in March 2003. Prior to coming to Japan in 1999, she gained her BA in History at the University of Birmingham . She is currently a Ph.D candidate at Keio University . Her main academic interest lies in the post war Japan-Korea relationship. She teaches the History of Tokyo and the History of Japan’s International Relations as an IES Tokyo faculty member.
