Alumni reception in Tokyo

Dear alumnus,Greetings from the University of Birmingham. I am writing to invite you to an informal alumni gathering that will take place from 18:30 on Saturday 20 November in Tokyo, Japan.

Professor Michael Whitby, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Head of the College of Arts and Law and Mr Jon Inegbedion from the International Relations office will be visiting Japan for a week to meet with institutional partners and attend a UK–Japan Higher Education symposium being hosted by the British Council. We would like to use this opportunity to have an informal reunion open to any former University of Birmingham students.

This event offers a great way for you to catch up with friends from Birmingham and meet other fellow alumni. Also you will have a chance to learn about recent developments at the University and hear about ways in which you can support Birmingham in attracting excellent students from Japan.
Precise details for the event will be confirmed once numbers are known but it will take place between 18:30 – 20:00 on 20 November at an ‘izakaya’ in the Shinjuku district. Light food will be provided and those attending will only be asked to pay for drinks. So that we have an idea of numbers in advance please RSVP by 6 November by sending an email to Ms Dolly Chakraborty (d.chakraborty@bham.ac.uk) indicating your degree and the year in which you graduated.

We do hope that you can join us in Tokyo and we look forward to meeting you!

Very best wishes
