Rain in Eden combine elements of traditional silk road music in their own original compositions. Inspired by the blending of musical cultures that took place on the Silk Road, Rain in Eden bring together instruments from across the region to create their own original sound.
Rain in Eden was formed in 2006 in Tokyo. They initially brought together the sounds of Japanese shamisen and electronic music but their curiosity with Silk Road music led to the use of an increasing variety of traditional instruments and sounds. Today, with their unique blend of strings, winds and percussion, Rain in Eden take the listener on an imaginary journey along the Silk Road.
The band has spent the last few months in the studio recording for their first CD release due in mid-2009. They’ve also just completed two tracks that will be included on Dakini Records ‘Tribal Matrix 2’. Rain in Eden will perform live at ‘Dakini Nights Vol. 17 – Neo-exotica’ on Saturday, February 21st, 2009 at EAST and MEETS Cay. They will be joined on stage by special guest percussionists Minowa Kazuhiro and Hisada Yuzo.
