Lecturer: Mr. Ian Martin, Special Representative of the Secretary
General in Nepal and Head of the United Nations Political Mission in
Nepal

Time: June 6, 2008 from 5 p.m.

Mr. Martin served as the Secretary-General's Personal Representative
in Nepal from August 2006, and Representative of the High
Commissioner for Human Rights in Nepal from May 2005. Earlier he was
involved in United Nations work in peace keeping in East Timor, in
Haiti, Rwanda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ethiopia/Eritrea. He was
Secretary-General of Amnesty International from 1966 to 1992.
