Thursday Feb. 19 Tune in Tokyo's Sweet Lolita Valentine Party is just two days away!
Join us for a night of Japanese dance music including J-Pop, J-Urban, and Neo-Soul, the indie and electro sounds of Shibuya Kei, and the best in Visual Kei rock, techno, and industrial!
In addition to music, Tune in Tokyo is also the destination for fans of Japanese fashion! Everyone is encouraged to celebrate this month's theme by dressing Sweet Lolita style. If that's not your scene, feel free to come dressed as you like. Our event welcomes all kinds of Japanese subculture-inspired fashion.
We are proud to announce that we will also have a prize drawing. Be sure to grab your ticket at the door! Prizes include a slick necktie from Camden Lock Clothing (like those worn by DJ Del and myself), and a special prize sponsored by theCure Shop and Anime Jungle!
We will also be offering a free soda ticket to attendees ages 18-20, and have a new drink special for attendees 21 and over. Just ask for the Speed Racer, only $6 !
As we prepare for the big event, I wanted to take a moment to spotlight two important contributors to Tune in Tokyo--our new artist, and photographer! By now everyone has seen the flyers illustrated by Jose Macasocol, Jr. Joe has worked for Tokyopop, Viz Media, Go! Comi, Yen Press, and Bandai Entertainment. We are excited to have him on the team! You can see more of Joe Mac's work here, and also here.
Steve Lee is a professional photographer based in Los Angeles. He has covered our recent events, including shooting the awesome photos of DJ SISeN and GPK currently posted in our MySpace albums. He will cover the Valentine Party, so if you see him, be sure to smile!
See you Thursday, February 19th!
