The MARIANA Trench is the deepest part of the world's oceans, and the deepest location on the surface of the Earth's crust. It has a maximum depth of about 11,033 meters (36,201 feet), and is located in the western North Pacific Ocean, to the east and south of the Mariana Islands. What beautiful & fearsome creatures are contained in its Abyssal zone beyond 5000m is largely a complete mystery. At that depth Angler fish lurk, Hagfish slime & spaceship-like jellyfish glow with throbbing bioluminescence, waiting in the depths. There is currently no submersible vehicle that can reach its depths.
