Once again Oxfam Japan's International Volunteer Group will be bringing poverty to your plate at our Hunger Banquet.
But what is a Hunger Banquet you ask?
It is an audience interactive event which vividly illustrates the inequalities in our world. When guests arrive, they will draw a ticket which assigns them a 1st world, 2nd world, or 3rd world income tier and a corresponding meal. The people in the 1st world will be served a fancy meal, the people in the 2nd world will receive rice and beans, and the people in the 3rd world will receive only rice. Afterwards, there will be a discussion. It is a wonderful learning opportunity for everyone involved.
