「Powwow・パウワウ」とは北米インディアンの風習で、遠くの部族がある日一つの場所に集まり、宴を囲みながら情報交換をおこなう大切な集会のこと。コマンドＮでは、1998年から2001年まで定期的にゲストを招き36回の「Powwow」を開催しています。自由なテーマでゲストと話をする約２時間のセッションです。
そしてこの度、現在プロジェクトスペースKANDADAで個展を開催しているピーター・ベラーズ氏をゲストに迎え、6年ぶりにPowwowが復活です!!
■内容：アーティスト/ピーター・ベラーズ氏が個展「データ・Building on Experience」についてと、今まで日本にいる間に創られた作品のテーマを中心にトークを展開します。1985年に画家として来日したピーター氏は、なぜメディアを変えて「普通に考えること、普通に考えないこと」に興味を抱き現在の姿になったのか。

In this Powwow session, artist Peter Bellars will talk about his current exhibition ‘Data:Building on Experience’ and the background to it as well as the various themes that he has been dealing with over the years he has lived in Japan.
Coming to Japan in 1985 after leaving college as a painter, what made him change his medium and his style of work and why is he showing an interest in the ordinary and the everyday and using that as the subject of his works now?
