HOKUSAI RETURNS 57min. (HS,C,GA) In the spring of 1986, more than 500 woodblock prints were accidentally discovered at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. These turned out to include three complete sets of a pictorial book by Katsushika Hokusai, one of the great Ukyo-e masters of old Japan. This video tells the story of the discovery of these prints and the story of William S. Bigelow, the man who had originally brought the woodblock prints to the United States. This film also provides the viewer with a rare opportunity to see some of Hokusai's greatest works.
