今週も土曜日に英会話を開催します。
【開催時間】14：00〜16：00
【開催場所】アルバーニ通りにあるティムホートン（ビュートとサーローの間）
皆さんの参加お待ちしております。
「初めての方へ」
このギリホリ英会話はメンバー皆で集まって英語でコミュニケーションをとるのが目的です。特に英会話のレベルなどは関係なく、英語を話す機会がもっと欲しいな〜とか、英語を話すのがすきという人はどんどん参加して下さい。
集合場所は基本的にコーヒーショップですので、学校の授業のように硬いものではなく、気軽に何でも話せるような雰囲気ですので、とにかく皆で楽しんでやっていきます。
流れとしては最初の45〜60分でお互い自己紹介をし、残りの60〜75分で用意されたトピックについて話し合う、といった感じです。
もし興味がある人は是非気軽に参加してください。ちなみに参加費などはなしで、コーヒーを飲みたい人は、コーヒーを自分で購入するのにお金がかかる程度です。
英会話の後にも、定期的に食事にいったり、ビリヤードしに行ったりと活動してます。皆で楽しみましょう！！

どうも、今回再びトピックスを担当させていただきますＳｈｉｎです。
ちょっと今回は、男性には興味が薄いかもな内容ですが、
気軽に話せる内容かと思いますので、気軽にご参加ください。
THE JEWELRY
Do you like accessories? They are a lot of kinds of accessories.
Forexample necklaces , chokers , rings , earrings , bracelets… and so on.
Sometimes they have jewelry. Almost all jewelry have kinds of stones.
And they are loved by people in the world from ancient times.
At first they were often used for ceremonies or as symbol of the power.
So they each have a meaning. The most popular example is birth stones.
Birth stones are believed to give luck and to protect from disaster.
And they each have a meaning. But till about 1925, it’s a little bit different in country.
Now birth stones are almost international.
January : Garnet
Garnet is usually a red stone but sometimes they have other color yellow , green , black , and so on.
Garnet means truth , friendship and virtue.
February : Amethyst
Amethyst is a purplish crystal. Amethysts have a fun tradition. If you have an amethyst , you won’t have a hangover.
Amethyst means honesty , nobility and calm mind.
March : Aquamarine
Aquamarine is a skyblue stone. Aquamarine and emerald are the same stone.
Aquamarine means brave , wise , composure.
April : Diamond
Diamond is the most famous stone. So everyone knows it. But do you know diamond is the hardest stone. However we can break diamonds easily with a hammer.
May : Emerald
Emerald is a green stone. It is used to talisman from ancient times.
Emerald means fortune and new start.
Jun : Pearl
Pearl isn’t a stone. They are made by shellfish. It is used in accessories from ancient times.
Pearl means health , wealth and beauty.
July : Ruby
Ruby is one of the most expensive jewelry. The color is red , little purple red , rose red.
They are used as laser beams.
Ruby means passion , pure love.
August : Peridot
Peridot is a light green stone. They were very popular in ancient Rome.
Peridot mean a couple’s fortune.
September : Sapphire
Sapphire is the same stone as a ruby. The color blue is the most expensive.
Sapphire means love , honesty and virtue.
October : Opal
Opal is a white stone and they have a rainbow color inside.
Opal means hope , innocence and purity.
November : Topaz
Topaz is a yellow stone. Sometimes they have green , red , blue and gray colors.
Topaz means honesty.
December : Lapis lazuli
Lapis lazuli have a sea blue color and they have gold or silver pattern in them somewhere.
They are often used as pigments.
Lapis lazuli means success , nobility ,health.
Jewelry has a lot of meaning. And they have a great charm. So we love Jewelry.
大体のテーマは「アクセサリー」「ジュエリー」「誕生石」です。
たぶん常用ではない単語ですが、
disaster：災害・厄災
talisman：魔よけの護符「タリスマン」
wealth： 富
virtue： 貞潔
pigments： 顔料
です。
あと、追記ですが 「Ｐeridot」 ペリドット又は、ペリドートと読みます。
日本ではあまり馴染みが薄い宝石で、辞書によっては載ってません。ライトグリーンのヨーロッパではよく好まれる宝石です。
