Oops, she did it again: Britney car mishap on video
A Los Angeles woman can thank the paparazzi photographers and video graphers after they revealed who had scratched her parked car without leaving a note: pop singer Britney Spears.
Registered nurse Kim Robard-Rifkin, 59, filed a police report Thursday after watching a video that shows the 25-year-old singer attempting to park her convertible and scraping against Robard-Rifkin's vehicle in the process.
Britney Spears has become better known for her personal issues than for her musical career.
(Getty) Filmed Monday and later posted on CelebTV.com, the video showed Spears — driving with a puppy on her lap — attempting to turn in to a pet store parking lot.
The singer is seen calling out in surprise as she steers into an adjacent car, Robard-Rifkin's silver Mercedes-Benz. After checking if her own vehicle suffered any damage and picking up some items from inside the pet store, Spears is then seen driving away from the scene.
Robard-Rifkin told the celebrity website that she had not been reached by Spears nor one of her representatives about the minor damage.” It’s sad because I was really hoping she'd step up," Robard-Rifkin said.
"There were obviously a lot of paparazzi there and what kind of person wouldn't realize that this would be on TV and she had to be responsible and contact me," she said. "I'm not asking for money. I'm not asking for a new car.… I simply want my car fixed, the same as I would fix somebody's car if I had done that."
Spears, a tabloid favorite who is constantly followed by photographers and videographers, has become better known for her turbulent personal life than for her musical career.
Spears is one of a host of young celebrities who have been caught on camera during driving mishaps and offences, including driving while she had one of her toddler sons in her lap and driving on the wrong side of the road.
