Educator Workshop
Art of the Unexpected: The Work of Tim Hawkinson

Taught in collaboration with Art21, a nonprofit arts organization that produces the PBS series Art:21--Art in the Twenty-First Century featuring contemporary art and artists in the United States, this workshop explores the work of Tim Hawkinson and the ways in which he redefines sculpture through the inventive use of everyday materials and the exploration of scale. In addition to in-gallery discussion and activities, participants explore the integration and use of teacher resources created by Art21 to support classroom teaching and learning. Particular attention is paid to using these contextual materials in conjunction with strands from the Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Visual Arts for middle and high school teachers.

Workshop fees: educator members $30 per workshop; nonmembers $40.
