Dakini Nights regular and one of Tokyo's top dancers, with a unique, imrpov-based style.
Mishaal has her own studio, Devadasi, in Omotesando, and is director of the dance troupe
Samanyolu. As a dancer she has performed internationally in Istanbul, Las Vegas, Germany,
Korea, Taiwan, and India, and in Tokyo she has performed live with Mahala Rai Band,
Mercan Dede, Jef Stott, Niyaz, and in shows with dancers like Rachel Brice and Ansuya.
Mishaal's sets at Dakini -- often live with her husband Goro's band Sevda -- are legendary,
and have inspired many, many people to take up bellydance.

Inspired by the blending of musical cultures that took place on the Silk Road, Rain in Eden
bring together instruments from across the region to create their own original sound.
Rain in Eden was formed in 2006 in Tokyo. They initially brought together the sounds of
Japanese shamisen and electronic music but their curiosity with Silk Road music led to the
use of an increasing variety of traditional instruments and sounds. Today, with their unique
blend of strings, winds and percussion, Rain in Eden take the listener on an imaginary journey along the Silk Road.
The band has spent the last few months in the studio recording for their first CD release due in mid-2009. They’ve also just completed two tracks that will be included on Dakini Records ‘Tribal Matrix 2’. Rain in Eden will perform live at ‘Dakini Nights Vol. 17 – Neo-exotica’ on Saturday, February 21st, 2009 at Aoyama Cay. They will be joined on stage by special guest
percussionists Minowa Kazuhiro and Hisada Yuzo.
The members of Rain in Eden are Kelly Williams, Megumi and herman b.
Kelly Williams (U.S.) does programming, song writing and plays setar, santoor (Persian), saz
(Turkish), tembor (Uyghur), rabab, dotar (Afghani), dhoira (Chinese), ghaval (Azerbajani) and

Commentary on the artist
Seisen Ito is relaying a perpetual vision, like a resurgent painter for Ukiyoe prints, as a catalyst to encourage and foresee the beginning of pulsation of the heaven, the earth and the god (man) of a new era and an art initiator toward transformation in this age when we human beings are forced to purify and change ourselves. He is the Japanese artist, I would say, who can conjure up the empathy and the sense of beauty we retain in the depth of our DNA, and provoke what is half forgotten that still remains in the mentality of us, modern people.
