☆IDJUT BOYS (Dan Tyler&Conrad McDonnell from London/UK)

映画会社で働いていたDanと、アメリカアリゾナ州のサボテン農
場で働いていたConradが出会い、Idjut Boysを結成！そし
て、２人はパブ・レストランでPhreekというパーティーを始め
る。のちにそのパーティーはU-Star Dance Partyと名をかえ、
1994年にはそのパーティー名と同じ名のレーベルU-STARを立ち上
げる。
ダンスミュージックへの強い愛情をライブ感覚溢れたダブ処理とユーモ
ア感覚によって昇華した彼らの作品は、単なるリコンストラクトに留ま
らないオリジナリティーに満ちている。NuphonicからのMIX
CD 『Saturday Nite Live』、Glasgow Undergroundからの
MIX CD 『Saturday Nite Live part 2』、そしてTirkから
MIX CDの『Press Play』からもうかがえるように、彼らの
DJとは巧みなミックスと創造性溢れる選曲で構成されるmadでグ
ルーヴィーなダンスパーティーである。

Dan, who was working for a film company, and Conrad, who was working
on a cactus farm in the middle of Arizona, had a chance meeting one
day, and that was the start of the IDJUT BOYS. At different pubs and
restaurants, they threw their party they call “PHREEK”.
After a while the name was changed to U-STAR Dance Party and in 1994
they started a label with the same name. With their love of dance
music and the zest of a live performance, along with a sense of
humor, they made songs that were hot, going straight from ice to
vapor! Their creation go beyond reconstructions, and the mix CDs they
released on Nuphonic, “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE”, and
“SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE 2” on Glasgow Underground showed
great strength in the songs they picked and how they mix. These guys
make for mad, groovy parties!
