〜About HiDETAKA LEE〜
HiDETAKA LEE is a ladies apparel brand designed by creative director Hidetaka Lee Fukuzaki.
Fukuzaki studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and after returning to Japan, he worked for Issey Miyake Japan. After four years at Issey Miyake, Fukuzaki launched "LiMLEE" in 2004. From April 1st, 2006 renamed the brand to "HiDETAKA LEE".
〜Brand Concept〜
HiDETAKA LEE strives to create clothes that make people happy. "Clothes" in Japanese is pronounced "youfuku" which consists of two chinese characters. We like to explain to people that we use the chinese character for happiness as "fuku" which is also the same chinese character as Fukuzaki's name. Clothes are something you wear on a daily basis, so why not feel happy everyday? Fukuzaki draws inspiration from his dual Chinese-Malaysian and Japanese heritage as well as from his extensive period of living in Australia, China, and the U.S. From these multicultural experiences, Hidetaka Lee Fukuzaki combines Eastern elements with Western tailoring techniques to render subtle and sophisticated career wear, echoing the lifestyle of the modern international woman and reflecting his design philosophy of 'Asian Fusion.'
