このたび、NANZUKA UNDERGROUNDは、佃弘樹の個展を開催いたします。本展は、佃弘樹のデビュー展であり、今回の展覧会のため、佃は、１年以上の準備期間を経て、オイルペインティング４点、および５点の仮面、そして約１０点の版画作品を制作いたしました。
佃弘樹は、１９７８年に香川県に生まれ、武蔵野美術大学映像科を卒業し、現在は東京に住む若手作家です。これまで、その作品はファッションやレコードジャケットなどのコマーシャル・クリエイティヴを中心に数多く発表されてきました。その作品は、特に７０−８０年代に熱狂的なブームを巻き起こしたロボットアニメーションやSF映画、あるいはSFコミックなどを支持する若い
世代の人々の注目を集めています。
今回の展覧会のタイトル「幻視力」は、佃が敬愛する偉大なシュールレアリスト、マックス・エルンストによる言葉の引用です。佃は、「我思う故に我あり」と言ったデカルトの哲学を考察し、かつてのシュールレアリストと同じように、全ての可視世界に疑問を投げかけます。「あるいは、こうした歴史、もしくは現在、そして未来があるのではないか」と。
佃弘樹は、今回の作品について次のように語っています。
「私は、かつての偉大な芸術家がそうであったように、人間の視覚認識に対して常に疑問を投げかけています。人が幻想を抱く力、あるいは人に幻想を抱かせる力というものは、必ずしも視覚領域の世界に留まらない話だからです。私は、私自身の美的感覚の根拠を、視覚とそれに付随するあらゆる感覚に依っています。」
本展に伴い、トークショー等いくつかのイベントを開催いたします。また、9月4日から11月18日まで、イタリアのアパレルブランドDIESELの新しいコンセプトショップ 「DIESEL DENIM GALLERY AOYAMA」に於いて、巨大なインスタレーション作品、映像作品等を含む個展「DOCTRINE」を同時開催しております。その他イベントの詳細な日程等は決まり次第、その都度お知らせいたします。

NANZUKA UNDERGROUND is pleased to present a solo exhibition of Hiroki Tsukuda.
This will be Tsukuda’s solo debut exhibition; through more than a year of preparation,
he produced 4 oil paintings, 5 masks and about 10 prints.
Hiroki Tsukuda is a young artist currently living in Tokyo, who was born in Kagawa 1978,
and graduated Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences of Musashino Art University.
A number of his works have been presented mainly in commercial creative fields such
as in fashion and record jacket. The works attract to a lot of attention mainly by young
generation who adhere to Robot animations, SF movies and SF comics that fueled a
craze in 70s and 80s.
The title of the exhibition, “Genshi-ryoku (visionary sensibility)” is a quote from Tsukuda’s
revered Surrealist, Max Ernst. Tsukuda observes Descartes’ philosophy of “I think
therefore I am,” casting doubt on all the visible worlds, as what the Surrealists did in
the past, and suggesting that there might be such history or the present and the future.
As Tsukuda comments on his works; “like what the great artists did in the past, I always
question humans’ visual perception. Human’s power to embrace the illusion or the power
which makes humans to embrace the illusion does not necessarily remain in the world of
vision. I leave the reasons of my own aesthetics to my vision and other associated sensibilities.”
In conjunction with the exhibition, there will be a talk show and several events.
Also, his solo exhibition titled “DOCTRINE” has been held concurrently at “DIESEL DENIM GALLERY
AOYAMA,” a new concept shop of DIESEL, an Italian apparel brand, including large scale installation
work and projected images. The dates and other detailed information will be announced separately.
