******************************************************** The Great California ShakeOut / October 15, 2009
To encourage awareness of and preparation for the next big earthquake, The Great California ShakeOut will now be held on the 3rd Thursday of October every year.
It has been organized by the U.S. Geological Survey and is a special event in California that includes the largest earthquake drill in the United States’ history.
Last year nearly 5.5 million Californians participated in the 2008 ShakeOut Drill.
Businesses may participate by registering with [http://www.shakeout.org/register]. If you wish to receive important preparedness documentation, please register with httpwww.shakeout.org/register].
The ShakeOut earthquake drill is set to commence on October 15, 2009 at 10:15 a.m. At that time, millions of people in homes, schools, businesses, government offices, and public places all over California will be asked to “Drop, Cover, and Hold On.”
Although we will not hold a mandatory earthquake drill for the entire building, tenants are encouraged to coordinate internally as to how they will participate in the drill.
We strongly urge you to register and participate with us during ShakeOut week. Should you have any questions or concerns, please log on to www.shakeout.org.
