Event: Inaugural meeting of the McGill Alumni Society of Japan. November 3 2009 (Tuesday) - 7pm Cafe Lolita, Azabu Juban, Tokyo


Dear fellow McGill University graduates,

For some time now, several other major world university alumni groups including those from Harvard University, Cambridge University and Oxford University have run established alumni societies in Japan in order to promote contacts among graduates throughout their careers as well as to provide a venue for promotion of the University abroad.

After discussions with McGill Montreal Alumni relations leading up to a visit to Tokyo several months ago, and with the advent of the McGill MBA in Japan program, the time is now right for an established McGill Alumni Society to be formed in Japan welcoming graduates of any McGill Faculty or degree.

The initial meeting will be for McGill Alumni to establish contact with each other and to begin to lay down the framework to complete the creation of a formal ongoing McGill Alumni Association in Japan which will hold regular networking lounges, evening formal dinners and other events on a regular basis similar to the activites of alumni associations of other major world universities already active in Tokyo.

The first meeting will take place at Cafe Lolita, a stylish cafe not far from Roppongi Hills, in Azabu Juban. Details are below.

This is a great way to meet your fellow McGill graduates and begin to make lifelong contacts with your Alma Mater here in Japan. All graduates of any faculty are welcome. If you plan on attending, please reply to me with your name, as well as faculty and graduation year so we can ensure there is adequate space for all attendees.

Access: Azabu Juban Station (Oedo and Nanboku lines)
* Azabu Juban stn Exit 7, walk 50 meters towards Roppongi Hills).
* Alternatively, exit at Roppongi station and walk down the hill towards Azabu juban (10 minutes walk).
* Food is available but there are no vegetarian meals available.
