10年前に亡くなった人道援助活動家に捧げるべくMédecins du mondeによって創設されたLuis Valtuena humanitarian photography award。12ヶ月間にわたって撮影された人道支援の価値と行動の本質の瞬間を捉えたアマチュア、プロフェッショナルたちを対象にした賞です。
2月2日から始まり、3月28日までエディンバラのInstitut Français d'Ecosseで写真展が開催されているそうです。その後全英を巡回展。

February 2 2007: Organised by Médecins du monde, the award was established 10 years ago as a tribute to four humanitarian workers who were murdered in the field. It invites amateur and professional photographers around the world to capture the essence of humanitarian values and actions in scenes that they have witnessed first-hand during the previous 12 months.

The pictures are on show at the Institut Français d'Ecosse, Edinburgh from today until March 28. They will then tour the UK.
