オーナー／デザイナーは80年代にプロのスケーターとして活躍したJEF HARTSELが2003年より立ち上げたストリート系ブランドです。
JEF HARTSELがオールドスクールと言われる、今では大御所にあたるスケーター等の世界に本格的に足を踏み入れた80年代、世界を飛び回りながら多くのデザイナーやミュージシャン、そしてビジネスオーナーとの出会いにより、彼自身デザイナーである事、DJ MANIFESTである事、何よりもスケーターである事を多いに発揮する時代でした。
POETREEはJEF HARTSELの生き方、つまりSK8BOARDING、ART、MUSIC、そして彼自身、RASTA FARIANである事を通して、みなさんに伝えたい事、共感したい事をシンプルにTシャツに表現しています。
ハワイ(HONOLULU)を拠点とし、NY、LA、東京、GUAM、香港と徐々に世界へ向けて名を広げつつあるPOETREE。
今秋より幅を広げリニューアルし、ますます目が離せません！

POETREE 2008- FALL-HOLIDAY Collection- Now Available!
"Roots... Life&Culture... "
The internationally renowned clothing company POETREE announces the release of their 2008 Fall Collection.
Previously available only at choice boutiques in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Guam, Hong Kong, and Hawaii, POETREE has branched out- and is growing its national market. The POETREE movement was founded and created by Jef Hartsel in 2003. Poetree stays committed to a conscious and positive message within it's designs and marketing. The companies motto is based on a combination of Hartsel's own personal roots in professional skateboarding, art, music, and faith in the Ras-Movement.
Hartsel, a well traveled and recognized skateboarder since the early 80's- stays very active both on & off his board. Working, designing, and collaborating with various artists, interests, and scenes. Jef has been heavily involved in the SKATE and STREET wear industry since its early years of development, and have worked within the community for nearly 2 decades. This has earned him much recognition for his contributions and involvement as a graphic designer, artist, professional athlete, and business owner. From skating a vertical line in empty swimming pools, surfing the south swell, rocking the massive as a dj-selecta & club promotor, to being the creative director and owner of POETREE, Jef does it all with natural style, passion, and commitment.
Born in Japan and raised from New Jersey to Venice Beach, California- Hartsel now resides in Honolulu. Jef is a staple member of the urban community in the Hawaiian islands and abroad. His constant drive to proceed, create, and spread positive beliefs can be seen through out his works, including POETREE. Jef combines the mystic vibes of Rastafari and reggae music, culture, and urban imagery to create the designs for each collection. Hartsel's spiritual demeanor, positive outlook, and his love towards humanity and nature has provided a balanced foundation for this company.
This year's Fall-Holiday collection is partially a reflection from a recent trip to Jamacia- "the land of wood & water," and Hartsel's experience of every day life living in the islands. This season look for bold over-size prints, metallic and bright jewel tone colors, hats, and home accessories, with designs carrying the message of EQUALITY, ONENESS, and SIMPLICITY.
Also featured in the collection are 2 Tshirt collaborations by world famous artists SLICK and SHIZENTOMOTEL. Los Angeles based artist, SLICK is the creative mastermind behind DISSIZIT clothing company. SLICK & Jef once partnered in the mid-90's as a design-team under the name of SHAO BROS (...together they created and launched a very influential lifestyle and skate brand called SHAOLIN WORLDWIDE). SHIZENTOMOTEL is- NEIM & KUNI, also a well known graff-duo and design team out of Tokyo, Japan. All designs and graphics are screen printed using POETREE's Heavy Cotton Series and Fine Cotton Series Tshirt blanks.
