I agree that franchises and big companies do more harm. There are two points, traditional skills and family businesses.
First, most local economies have traditional skills and they are protected to preserve the skills. However, if such big companies come into the local areas, they will sell things more without using the skills. And traditional skills may be endangered.
Second, family businesses make local economies and they protect the areas. Family businesses understand that local areas are very important and they protect the local societies. But franchises and big companies don’t understand it and they do anything to earn money. They use a lot of money and destroy the family businesses and the areas.
For these reasons, franchises and big companies do more harm than good for local economies. But if they can understand how the local economies are important, they may have some good effects to the local economies. 22:03 / 150 words
