MAY68 were born in early 2009, emerging from a darkened room in Manchester with a handful of ideas inspired by the New York disco scene, post-punk, Chicago house and classic pop. Late 2009 saw the band go out on their first UK tour with We Have Band and into 2010 supporting Delphic and The Drums. They played for the opening of FAC251 to rave reviews, cementing their position amongst the forerunners in the Manchester music renaissance. With their debut single ‘My Ways’ released in March 2010 on Hit Club, MAY68 quickly caught the attention of radio with Nick Grimshaw, Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, John Kennedy, Rob Da Bank and Eddy Temple-Morris all supporting the single and remixes. After having played an outstanding show at The Great Escape in Brighton, the band featured in the NME as ‘Breakthrough Band of the Week’. They are looking forward to establishing themselves on the summer festival circuit with dates such as Parklife, Glastonbury and Creamfields, whilst working on their second single and debut album.<NME>
