KIRIYAMA (DEVILS MIND RECORDS, SWEDEN)
スケートボードカルチャーがスウェーデンで成長を遂げた90年代半ば、Alex Ortegrenはギターを手に友人たちとスケートボードパンクのバンドを結成。後にスウェーデンの有名な都市Orebroに移り、エレクトロニックミュージックの作曲を開始、Kiriyamaプロジェクトを開始した。
Kiriyamaのサウンドはジャズ、ゴアトランス、ジャパニーズロックや60年代サイケデリックミュージック等数々のジャンルの音楽から影響を受けたスウェディッシュフォレストミュージックと表現できるだろう。言うまでもない事だが、彼のプロジェクトの名前は彼のインスピレーションに多大なる影響を与えた国に敬意を払って名づけられており、その影響はいくつかの曲で太鼓の音や三味線のサウンドとして聴く事ができる。

また2004年、AlexはDennis The Menaceと共に、その時代時代に適したナイトミュージックを限定的にリリースするDevils Mind Recordsを創設。その後Devils Mind Recordsのみならず、Golden Dawn RecordsやKabrathor Records等のレーベルからリリースを続ける。彼のサウンドスケープはこれらのレーベルからのリリースによって形作られたといっても過言ではないだろう。
また、近年ではHishiryoと数多くのコラボレートを行っており、サイドプロジェクトのPeacespectはVegetalとのコラボレーションである。

Alexはスウェーデン、アメリカ、ロシア、イタリア、オーストリア、ドイツ、ベルギー、ウクライナ、ハンガリーやノルウェイ等の多数の国でプレイしてきており、そしてついに日出づる国の地を踏もうとしている。

KIRIYAMA (DEVILS MIND RECORDS, SWEDEN)

When the skateboard culture grew strong in Sweden during the mid 90s, Alex Ortegren
picked up his guitar and formed a skatepunk band with some of his friends. Later,
after moving to the famous Swedish city Orebro, he began writing electronic music
and the Kiriyama project was born. The Kiriyama sound could be described as Swedish
forest music with influences from a great number of genres such as jazz, goa trance,
Japanese rock and psychedelic music from the 1960s. Needless to say, the name of his
project is his way of paying homage to the country which has been his greatest source
of inspiration; something that could be heard in his music in various ways, like
the use of taiko drums in some tracks and the presence of the shamisen in others.

Alex founded Devils Mind Records together with Dennis The Menace in 2004, a label which
specialises in releasing contemporary night music in limited editions. Up to this date,
Kiriyama's soundscapes have been featured on releases from labels such as Devils Mind
Records, Golden Dawn Records, and Kabrathor Records among others. As for collaborations,
he frequently collaborates with Hishiryo, and another side project of his is Peacespect,
which is a collaboration with Vegetal.

Alex has performed in numerous countries such as Sweden, USA, Russia, Italy, Austria,
Germany, Belgium, Ukraine, Hungary, and Norway; and now he is bringing the sounds of Orebro
to the land of the rising sun!
